Westbourne Grove (Main Branch), BloomsburyPlanet Organic reviews
After just reading the the review by Sana I'd say they are blatantly a Whole Foods employee. I have lunch virtually every day at Planet in Westbourne Grove and not once have I seen 'burnt' fish. I have seen blackened salmon, teriyaki salmon, and Mediterranean salmon with capers and black olives. All three always look unbelievably appetizing but burnt definitely not. Maybe Sana didn't read the labels; if they had, they might have worked out that blackened salmon does look dark in appearance. As for the items swimming in oil, I purchase salads all the time from the counter and they are all lightly dressed.
Having been to Whole Foods, in my opinion there is no comparison. If the previous reviewer is looking for an organic lunch they are going to be hard pushed to get that at Whole Foods, who from my understanding are only about 10% organic.
Having travelled from Knightsbridge to Westbourne Grove simply to have a fresh, organic lunch I was very disappointed with the quality of food on offer. The hummous had a dry crust, the three trays of different fish dishes contained nothing but layer upon layer of burnt fish. The aubergines were also burnt black. Those items that were not burnt, were swimming rather unappetisingly in oil.
Forget it and go to Whole Foods on Kensington High Street, which I have since discovered. It's at the 'Harvey Nichols' end of the scale, and for virtually no difference in price!
