La Porchetta reviews
I was told La Porchetta, Stroud Green was definitely worth a visit, but not having had the chance to visit, we stumbled across this branch yesterday evening (Fri). 'Bad' is an understatement for this particular Italian eaterie. It's obvious it hasn't had any investment in either the decor or staff in a very long time. The staff looked bored and unmotivated, the atmosphere was bland and the food below average. I ordered Tagliatelle Al Salmone, which was highly salted and swimming in oil. The tomato topping on my partner's Romana pizza was tasteless and didn't rate any higher than a supermarket-bought pizza. If you're looking for a good Italian experience, don't go here.
by pinmamh2002, 03 Nov 2007Great food. Nice staff - happy and helpful. Good value for money. Highly recommended.
by zhang69kane, 29 Sep 2007I've been to this branch only once, but thought my spaghetti bolognese great as usual (I normally eat at the Crouch End branch). My husband loves the pizzas at La Porchetta (in particular the four cheeses), and the service is excellent. It's always busy, so time your visit as I don't think they take bookings. It's also good for larger groups.

by deedee3, 16 Nov 2006Great place for a non-romantic meal. Go there to have great food, not conversation.
by acestar (2 reviews), 05 Jul 2006This place is decent enough. It's very busy, with a frenetic vibe, and the tables are packed together. A good place to grab a bite before you head off somewhere else to party. The food's pretty good, but not exceptional or groundbreaking.
by foolio (2 reviews), 21 Jan 2006Good portions, good value for money, great vibe. Music can be a bit too loud but unless you're a geriatric you should be able to handle it!
by Cradle (2 reviews), 02 Nov 2005You must go, the food is great (huge portions) cheap and the waiters are gorgeous!
by Anonymous, 06 Apr 2005Pizzas here or at any of its other 3 restaurants are superb. Their pasta isn't far off either.
by Anonymous, 29 Mar 2005Very cheap huge portions but very loud music. Good to go with a group of drunk friends but not for a romantic dinner or to propose to your girlfriend!
