Napule reviews
I visit Napule every Chelsea home game. The food is outstanding, the service slow but very polite and helpful. Always go for the specials.

I am Italian. The food is good, especially the pizza, but the service is terrible. Always check your bills too, as they have a habit of adding things.

The menu is mostly traditional dishes done with a special flair and impeccable ingredients. The cooking is simple in the extreme, yet simply perfect. This is the style of restaurant I believe in.

We love it! Been twice so far - the pizzas are fabulous, the staff very friendly. Will definitely be going back!

The pizzas were delicious and the staff were very friendly. It was freezing and miserable outside but we were very warmly welcomed. The wine was good too. I can't wait to go back!

The staff are arrogant and pushy. As for the food, the pizza was good but we were a little put off by the chef that made it. Overall the restaurant is extremely unprofessional, with lots of groping and touching going on amongst the staff. Avoid the place like the plague if you possibly can.

I have ever been let down by this bustling Italian. Pizzas are excellent as is the antipasti. I have taken many Italian friends here who all have vouched for it's authenticity, if that's what you are after. I cannot understand some of the poor reviews here unless they are by rival local restaurateurs?

I have been to the Napule at least 4 times over a period of 3 years, and never been disappointed. All visits have been on a weeknight, and most of the other clientele were locals and Italian and it was still busy for a Monday or Tuesday.
The food has always been excellent, whether it is a chicken, fish, meat dish. Even the huge wood-oven cooked pizzas were great. We were never hurried, the waiters gave good descriptions and were helpful. As for bad service and expensive? Well, many free Limoncella didn't seem like rude waiters or over-priced.
It was great to see Italian families out with their well behaved children choosing their own meals, couples enjoying a romantic dinner, or like us 3 fortunate work colleagues who had stumbled across this little piece of gourmet heaven. Probably not the best Italian in the world or London, but definitely the best in SW London. A great, intimate, atmospheric restaurant.

I have to disagree strongly with the previous review. I am an Italian and when Napule` first opened I remember thinking 'finally Italian food that doesn't taste foreign in London'.I have a pretty good sense of what Italian food should taste like and I can assure you that ,although a bit expensive, Napule lives up to my expectations. The unique feature about it is that they import food from Italy every Friday therefore you can find items that you can't find anywhere else (maybe just at Pizza Metro in Clapham) such as Friarielli or Parmigiana actually made with imported aubergines and tomatoes, respectable buffalo mozzarella and much more. If you don't appreciate the difference between the anaemic tomatoes you find here and the imported ones, between the plastic aubergines you find in other restaurants and the ones at Napule` , than you you are better off going to buy Italian ready meals in supermarket, or living a life of fish and chips, toads in the hole and steak and kidney pies!As for the issue of the service, I have always found very friendly staff and I have always had the owner Andrea, come to my table to help me order and to make sure I was happy with the food.I highly recommend Napule`.

Some of the rudest waiters I have ever had the misfortune to encounter... the pizza chef also looked off-puttingly dirty.

For the first time in my life I feel obliged to voice my disappointment with a restaurant. Overall, it was one of the worst eating out experiences I've ever had - and it was also my husband's 40th...
We'd been to this restaurant a couple of times before booking it for his 40th birthday. We selected it mainly because he is Italian and so are many of his friends, we wanted simple and genuine Italian food and also the location suited most people so we thought - surely, we can't go wrong. To make things simpler for everyone, we went for a set menu which, by the way, wasn't such a good value. What a mistake....
Firstly, we were told at 8pm that they ran out of bruschetta. However, they had bread and tomatoes... Essentially, bruschetta is bread with tomatoes... so how can an Italian restaurant run out of bruschetta?!
Then at 8.30 pm on Friday evening they conveniently ran out of house wine so we had to go for more expensive wines. However, a couple of hours later, we saw people at other tables drinking the house wine... Interesting...
The starters were OK, risotto con funghi was average but also OK. The pasta dish was truly appalling - it was burned, dry and tough and the little sauce it had tasted exactly like the tomato sauce you would use for making pizzas. The pizzas were again very average - the same sauce as our baked pasta.
And then the desserts... We placed all our orders with the waiter only to hear 10 min later that, basically, they again ran out of everything and we can only have tiramisu or white chocolate truffle. So we did... Honestly, the stuff I buy in supermarkets rates as supreme when compared to what we had in Napule.
Finally, we asked for limoncello. Again, 5 min later the waiter comes back saying - guess what... they ran out of limoncello!
By that time, we all wanted to get out of there so we asked for the bill. The bill arrived but was for approx. £200 more than it should have been. I went to speak to the manager and the cashier and received another bill for £200 less. We divided it among 11 of us and I went back to the cashier with all the money. However, she took the bill out of my hand and replaced it with a new bill for £100 more saying that she had made a mistake! I didn't want to go back to my friends asking for more money as I didn't want to ruin the evening and my husband's birthday. So I just paid the difference. In total, the highly disappointing meal at Napule, costed us £190. Oh please...
Another big mistake was not counting the bottles of wine we drunk. We had a few drivers amongst us and 2 pregnant women so we worked out that those who did drink had approximately 3 bottles a head... I guess I will be counting my bottles from now on!!
And yes, I tried to talk to the manager - such a waste of my time and breath. Do I need to say that none of us will go there again?? Ever.
