Spa at Chancery Court reviews
Based on reviews both here and in other press, I was given a voucher as a present for a personalised massage. I have had many massages before, in a number of different countries, and this was one of the worst. It was very painful and far from relaxing. Muscles which started out normal are now all tight and sore due to the 'technique' used, which generally seemed to entail pushing as hard as possible in places where it couldn't possibly feel good (ie the bony base of my skull, my shoulder blades, the indentation on the inside of my ankles!) and also on any knotted muscles, rather than gently working out any tension... I generally like a firmer massage than most, but this wasn't a firm even pressure but instead pointed-thumbs into trigger-points pressure. The facilities are nice enough but I've seen better and paid less for the pleasure.

I had the most amazing treatment at this spa. It has to be the most stylish city spa I have visited in a long time. My therapist was excellent and the whole experience was deeply relaxing.

I have just returned from this spa and I must say I was a bit disappointed. Not by the facilities, but by my masseuse. The massage wasn't that great - I've had much better massages in other spas. She also went on talking to me for the first 15 mins and I was a bit annoyed by that (I don't go to a spa for a chat). However, she finished with a scalp massage and that was good - I nearly fell asleep.
I love the relaxation room. The showers are tricky though - you don't know which way to turn to open the water and which is the hot and which the cold (annoying when you just want to relax under hot water).
Otherwise, everything was great. I will surely return, but will change therapist.

Chose the spa based on reviews, especially regarding the relaxation room. Great facility and friendly reptionist. Small changing area, but I had all I needed - the sauna and steam room. Actual treatment (full body massage) was quite disappointing though. My treatment room was next to the relaxation room and I could not relax due to the noise. I left the spa wanting to have another massage. The therapist didn't put in much effort and didn't really spend time on my shoulders. She then spent 5 mins washing her hands after the treatment, which I found distracting since I was trying to relax. Not professional! If you are looking for a good treatment, go to Elemis or Illuminata if the facility itself is not so important to you.

Had an amazingly fantastic treatment after hearing so much about this spa and its bespoke treatments. I didn't expect to have a treatment by Samera Din herself (the head therapist). I felt so relaxed and just didn't want it to end! Make sure you rebook before you leave, as they get booked up so far in advance (I had to wait almost two months before getting another appointment with Samera). I was cared for so well there and will make it my regular escape.

Had holistic stressbuster. Was very good (I fell asleep!), though not as good as the regular (and less than half the price) massage I had at Ragdale Hall a couple of weeks later. The spa had been hired by a party of women who had completely taken over the changing room, so it was a bit cramped (though I think the staff anticipated this, as they apologised repeatedly before they took me through to the changing room). Very nice decor, certainly luxe. The relaxation room was lovely. Nice experience overall.

My friend and I went after finding the offer on the urbanpath website and I have to say we were both impressed by the facilities. Although located in the changing rooms, the sauna and steam room were very clean and the Hawaiian shower was entertaining and unexpected. The only downside was we didn't realise how nice the relaxation room would be and could have quite happily spent another 10 mins reading magazines before we went for the treatments. Treatments were wonderful (Indian head massage) and the therapist was lovely. A thoroughly enjoyable experience.

I had a wonderful experience at this spa. The staff are helpful and friendly, and the treatments are simply amazing. Wonderful relaxation area as well. I would definitely recommend.

Wonderfully clean, great treatments and wonderful relaxation room. Staff very kind - looked after me very well when I was taken ill (nothing to do with treatment!).

What an experience. From the first moment I stepped into the room I felt like royalty and came out pampered, relaxed and feeling like i'd been lavishly cared for. First class staff who could not do enough to help.
