ChelseaAll Saints reviews
Surely part of All Saints' charm is that the limited produced stock and slightly higher prices means that fewer people wear the same pieces as you? I'm definitely willing to pay a bit more to make sure I look a bit more individual. If I wasn't, I'd be buying all my clothes in Topshop.
by ani_white, 11 Apr 2008I think All Saints is very interesting and different and all the staff look the part too. I usually have to wait till the sales come round though, as it is a bit pricey. The designers are doing a good job - keep it up!
by jaganjia, 23 Feb 2008I think people need to get over the whole 'the belts are crap and common!' thing. Yes, everyone has them, but they do look pretty good. Admittedly, the fakes are pretty awful, there are websites devoted to having whatever you want stamped on to your belt, and when you see someone walking along with something like 'hucking forny' or similar you have to laugh - why do people bother?
by billy!, 31 Dec 2007I must admit, the clothing here is better than your average high street chain but, like a lot of you are saying, it's overpriced for what it is. It's over-hyped, and nothing to be proud of wearing (those of you with those annoying All Saint belts!). It's been around for a while, and was better when not many people knew about it. I think the company is going for the money now, and not producing the distinctive clothing it used too. God only knows why the company decided to open a store on Market Street Manchester (the street is horrible), but it shows that All Saints are trying to be mainstream players. In which case, they need to bring the prices down!!
by mishmash, 22 Dec 2007Living slap bang half way between Birmingham and Manchester, I first came across All Saints when shopping at the Bullring, I think about 2-3 years ago. I loved it - everything I tried on seemed to just hang right and look different to anything else on the high street.
Where I'm from people aren't really fashion-concious; in fact, all the blokes wear the same stuff. So wearing some of the pieces from All Saints, I just got lots of positive comments - especially about the belts - and I loved it (bear in mind this is about 3 years ago). Now however, they're all wearing the belts everywhere you look. But what's worse is that they're fake ones too - random colours with horrendous 'sayings' - so I try to avoid wearing any of mine now.
Every so often I make my way to either Manc or Brum to buy some more items and it's true, everyone's now wearing All Saints, especially round big cities. But I must admit I still can't help myself. I go in for a look round, and always come out having spent money I haven't got!
Love this shop. Most of my wardrobe's from All Saints. I don't mind too much that the same styles are used for a few seasons - it just means you get really good clothes you know look great on you, only in a different colour!
I'm always getting compliments on stuff from there. It's not like when you wear Topshop or River Island and people say "Oh, you got that from River Island, didn't you?" and everyone knows where it's from because they or their friends have the same thing. I wish I worked there, though only if there was free uniform allowance and 50% personal discount (otherwise I think all my wages would go on the clothes as they came in the shop!).
I love All Saints and have been shoppng there for years. At the moment they are trying to raise brand awareness, meaning it is becoming more high street then unique boutique, but if you choose carefully some of the best pieces still have that edge. The belts (for all those who think they are common) have now been taken off and All Saints have said they will no longer be selling them - perhaps this is due to popularity?! I do, however, feel that All Saints has been majorly copied by other high street chains - you only have to look at the shrunken bombers in most shops (an All Saints staple a few years ago) and the draped style fallen angel tops to see that. I love All Saints but the designers need to shake it up again!
by iamahat, 07 Aug 2007I have to say, I find quite a few of the comments on here an interesting debate. I personally find All Saints still quite an edgy retailer with a unique brand concept which hasn't been copied or since repeated. As a buyer for a major retailer, I look to their brand both with interest and intrigue - they present both a style and concept which I see many females emulating on the High Street. I love the brand - yes, they can be quite expensive but their pieces are unique. And no matter what people say about their studded belts, they have made the brand and have created the 'rock chick' look that is so popular today.
I suspect some of the more derogatory comments about All Saints on here are likely to have come from young twentysomethings or teens who probably use 'darling' after every sentence and have disappeared up their own behinds panicking over 'what is hot and what is not'...
Worn by wannabes?! You absolute loser. I'd rather be one of your so called "wannabes" than the stuck up person you seem to be. So what you buy a few things from All Saints, it's hardly Gucci darling... get over yourself.
by .............................................................................................................Nadia Owens.............................., 08 Jul 2007I have some gorgeous pieces from All Saints. How naff are the belts though?!
by Clair-a-Belle, 14 Jun 2007I have some great pieces from here but the belts are unbelievably naff, worn by wannabes who have only just heard of All Saints! Who are you people??
by ApplePie, 12 Jun 2007I used to shop in All Saints every month. Just started wearing their stuff again and nothing has changed - still good quality and unique.
by Dilligaf, 21 May 2007Expensive, but worth it if you have an eye for individual pieces. I only have 4 items of clothing and a pair of shoes from there and I have only seen one other person wearing one of the things I have. The belts are a complete no-no - they're just common and look cheap because you see so many unfashionable people in them. It's true that the majority of their line looks the same each season, but if you choose selectively you can get some good finds. Good for the occasional purchase... but the price, not enough variation, and fashion wannabes wearing so much of it mean you need to be cautious.
by hormonally_yours, 11 May 2007I was really keen on All Saints stuff a couple of years ago, as their range had a coolness and uniqueness about it. However, 2 years down the line and nothing much seems to have changed. You could argue that it's good to have an identity style but some variation within that from time to time would be nice. That individuality which made it great is now becoming more and more diluted, as unfortunately more and more people are now wearing it (mainly the belts). What's more, the quality of the clothes - very flimsy - has never lived up to the outrageous prices.
by LFC Kopite, 04 May 2007I have to say, when I first shopped in All Saints I was surprised at the clothes. They were fresh and new and gave you an edge over everyone else, even if it was just a white T-shirt with a rip in it and a cross on the back...
4 years later and All Saints is everywhere. The belts, well... £50 a pop? I admit, I have a black one but rarely wear it any more. Long live Ralph Lauren and Vivienne Westwood - stylish and funky.
Nothing compared to what it used to be around 2000-2003. Far too expensive for the quality and design. Find old All Saints clothing if you can - you'll prefer it, the pieces will be rarer, better designs, and better value.
by Anonymous, 24 Apr 2007Since day one they have had the odd gem. Better than most High Street stores of the kind.
by Anonymous, 07 Apr 2007I bought a lovely cotton cardigan from All Saints for £75. Fell apart within a couple of months though...
