Blue Elephant reviews
Don't waste your money! I can't stress this enough. The interior is cool - so have a drink, but leave before you have to suffer the food. Truly tastless, awful, cold and way overpriced. Don't be lured in by the goldfish pond - there are much better Thai places in London.
by missfine "top london reviewer" (25 reviews), 19 Jun 2007A total Thai experience and probably the most authentic Thai restaurant in London. Great food and good atmosphere, although it has become a little too commercialised since it first opened. It seems to be a little too crowded now. But the food is still there and the service impeccable.
by audrey "top london reviewer" (32 reviews), 16 Jun 2007While the food and service are both superb, as a venue it does feel a bit like the sort of place that I would want to organise my little girl's 10th birthday party. Still, at least it isn't the bland over-styled approach to interior design that most new restaurants seem to adopt these days.

by jennyhurren (12 reviews), 21 Nov 2005A romantic evening to celebrate the boy's birthday in November. He loved it and insisted that we take all 5 children back to celebrate the new year. Given the fact that the tsunami had hit less than a week earlier the staff were as charming as ever but our waitress was obviously not as switched on as all the previous times I have been - had to ask to have plates removed.
The bottled water was constantly topped up to the extent it was the most expensive single item on the bill - given the fact that the water is served in smaller bottles than usual and could well have been tap it would appear that they hike the prices to those off the wine list.
The children enjoyed it - especially staring at the koi carp. Great as a special treat fine but not as a regular trip - would need to take out a second mortgage! Oh, and where were the hot towels that are usually served at the end of the meal and my orchid upon leaving? Felt slightly cheated and that the policy was to get bums on seats and then chase them out once eaten. Still impressive in a camp way if you want to take someone on a romantic date!
Have we missed a great restaurant in London? Let us know.
