The great thing about this place is that it's an anti-war museum. It makes the point that the way to preserve the peace and safeguard civilisation is to be strong without being aggressive. Don't miss the Tibetan Peace Garden at the front.

Titling of exhibits is difficult to read with bifocals - would be better if it were higher and larger print.

Exhibits are too dark and information too difficult to read. The virtual "Blitz" was embarrassing. The Holocaust exhibit was extremely good but again too dark. The lack of light did not intensify ones horror but rather frustrated the viewer. The audio tape was not working well and didn't seem necessary.

As well as the long-term exhibits, the Imperial War Museum always has an excellent paid-for exhibition on the go about some aspect of war and culture. This summer it's running a D-Day exhibition which I highly recommend.
