London Zoo reviews
We visited London Zoo two days ago and we were very disappointed. I felt really sorry for the animals as there is hardly any room for them to roam around. Some of the enclosures were empty and it all needs updating. Prices are too high for what is there. I would recommend Howlett's Zoo to anyone visiting the UK.

Al zoos should be closed and more places like Woburn and Longleat should be opened. In my opinion, zoos are no different to animals in the circus. My last visit to London Zoo was 10 years ago. It was in decline then and, after reading the other reviews, it doesn't seemed to have changed.

If you want to see animals in a habitat more natural to them than a concrete pit or alternatively if you care about their welfare, may I advise a trip to a wildlife park or safari park where your money will go towards supporting animals in an atmosphere slightly more humane or at least interesting for them.

I have just returned home to Canada after a visit to London with my boyfriend, and I wanted to say that we were really impressed with London Zoo. After reading some of these reviews before we went I was a bit apprehensive, but I honestly dont know what they are talking about!
The zoo keepers we spoke to were very friendly, and obviously very knowledgeable about the animals in their care. Gorilla Kingdom is a fantastic new exhibit, and Bobby the gorilla seemed to be having a wonderful time roaming around the island! We missed the feed but the person standing in the area was very helpful with facts and info.
It's amazing to think all this is inside such a major city.
I will recommend the zoo to everyone I know who is going to London.

I went to London Zoo a few weeks ago and I must say I was utterly unimpressed. Firstly for having to pay £17.50 for an adult and £13.50 for a 4-year-old, and then once inside having to PAY to go on rides (try saying 'no' to my niece)!! Once inside, the animal enclosures were overgrown, a lot of them empty, and the animals seemed bored and listless. Very little educational info about the animals, plus apathetic staff. It was rubbish.

What a shame. It remember it being such a wonderful place in the 60s and 70s. On the plus side, the plants were nice; but it's a case of 'spot the animals' nowadays I'm afraid. Liked the metal penguins.

Horrible experience. I really only recommend this place to people with small children, as they are always happy to see animals and they may not have other opportunities. Otherwise, this place is one to avoid!

London Zoo is the most dismal and depressing experience I have had recently. I would avoid it at all costs. It spoiled my short holiday in London.

Very bad. Needs more support, so can people please donate to help these very beautiful animals.

It's time it was closed for good, and the animals put where they can get some pleasure out of life.

Dreadfully poor zoo, yet at very high admission prices. Whole place in decline, with some sections closed for rebuilding, such as the gorillas' enclosure, and other sections that need rebuilding, such as the aquarium.
Few animals on display for what was once a great zoo, and those animals there were confined in enclosures that were much too small. Avoid London Zoo, and see animals in the open at natural parks such as Woburn.

A somewhat depressing and run down experience, for us and probably for the few flea bitten animals that were to be seen. Let's hope the new tiger and gorilla enclosures give the zoo a boost.

I think that London Zoo is a great zoo, and obviously, a zoo will not be the same as the wild BUT it does do a pretty good job.
And all the animals looked happy and none where in distress.

All the animals are on concrete, the giraffes have no trees to graze on etc. It is a very big contrast to the wild. Enclosures are nowhere near big enough in my opinion.
