Food For Thought reviews
I loved Food for Thought so much that it gets several mentions in the book ('A Friend Laughs' by Jo Freeman) I wrote about our life in the Costa Rican jungle. When we moved over there from London, the recipe book travelled with us! My husband ate scrunch every day when he worked in Covent Garden!

Food For Thought offers me hope when trudging through the hordes of Covent Garden. Great, wholesome, fresh food which is unbelievably cheap when one considers the portions and quality. I discovered it on a rainy day a couple of years ago and look forward to every time I get to return. Must visit.

My Mum found a bug in her food and refuses to ever go back... but I think it's alright!

Eat here if you rate flavour over environment. Yes, it is small and cramped and can be very busy. But when you get to the front of the queue your meal is served up immediately, it's food to die for, with every mouthful enjoyed to the max. The bread will be the best you've ever tasted, and there's fantastic options for vegans, not just veggies. A1 place.

I'm visiting London in March and I'm thrilled the place is still around. I spent a dreary January in London back in 1987 (my college days) and this place was the only thing cheerful about my stay. I wonder... is it in the same location? Do you still have to walk down stairs to get your meal? I just can't wait to go back!

I love this place and always aim for it whenever I'm in London. The food is completely vegetarian and so delicious. I love the quiche and salads and the banana scrunch is fabulous! I give it top marks!

I hadn't been there since about 1974 (moved away, had kids etc), and it's EXACTLY the same. Brilliant! In those days, I used to see Dudley Moore there, and he didn't have to worry about anyone bothering him because it was so quiet and laid back. Covent Garden wasn't even trendy then, neither was Neal Street. A good thing about my meal today was instant service; I just walked in off the street, got served right away and had a really pleasant, inexpensive meal.

I lived in Covent Garden for over a year and took a job at a firm nearby just so I could eat lunch here regularly. Tasty, healthy, cheap and mostly made with love - I have no idea what the reviewer below is talking about. If you love lentils, vegetables, and quiet chaos, then wait in the queue and try the hot pot, the quiche or the salads. This place is a gem.

An over-rated joint that has done nothing to update itself or to be imaginative with food. If you eat here often enough, you notice the variations in quality. On some days the main dishes are good, on others the food is almost sub-standard. Pasta can be almost inedible, cooked to a mash with boring sauces. I'm also VERY unsure about hygiene levels here. The staff served up my dish in a sloppy way, it tasted pretty bland and the spinach had grit in it.

I love this place! It's cheap, original, hippy, and very good. The quiche is the best thing, and the bread with nuts. The portions are very big too, so you can eat a lot and spend nothing (about £5). Try it!

I can't praise this place enough. Even my meat eater friends love their food.

I've always pondered about being a veggie, this place shows that a meal really doesn't require meat, and it does it well. Good portions, filling food, reasonable prices, friendly atmosphere. A simple yet happy place.

When I lived in London I ate at this restaurant at least once a fortnight and have fond memories of it. There was always a line that went all the way up the stairs during lunch hour. I don't think I ever sat there to eat because it was small and always packed. The food (all vegetarian) was tasty and healthy and always left me feeling full and happy.

What is everyone on about!? I have eaten some of the tastiest meals here! The main courses, specials and salads are always delicious... I never used to be a big vegetable fan but everything here is cooked so well, with the perfect blend of herbs and mix and match of colours and flavours. The deserts are delicious, and the portions are enormous, definitely good value for money! Large, inventive hearty meals served up to the bucket load with an unrivalled friendly atmosphere. I would eat here every day if I could! Highly recommended!

The broccoli quiche is great, portions are very generous and very reasonably priced. I recommend this place to everyone.

I work in the area and find the food is overpriced . And many people have commented that they seem to serve up same food with different names.
