Designs are pretty, but how are the prices justifiable if the product is made in Romania and the materials used are synthetic?

Staff knowledgeable and helpful, and the shop has atmosphere. Disappointed to learn that it shares the same owner as Waterstone's, as I have been buying from Hatchard's to support it! (But Waterstone's staff are also helpful; just different ambiance.)

Asked for a pair of shoes to be set aside for me for the next day. The next day, they couldn't find the shoes, nor offer any real solution other than that I return when the person they think served me (haven't they heard of rosters?) will be working. Not very impressive... but then the store has become a souk.

Tried on a pair of shoes in Knightsbridge branch and told sales assistant I would think about them, whereupon ingratiating was noticeably replaced by sullen. Not a positive customer experience.
