Nobu (Restaurant / Restaurant)

Had a sensational meal here, hideously expensive but well worth it. The service was spot on and every mouthful a delight. We spent in excess of £200 a head (indulging in the nine course tasting menu and a few bottles of wine), so brace yourselves... However, not once have I regretted that expense. We will return!

Well, what can I say about this restaurant, other than 'avoid it like the plague!' It is massively overpriced (and I was expecting it to be expensive) for food that is woefully under par.
We went for the full taster menu and had our breath taken away with each course (for all the wrong reasons). The main currys consisted of ropey old knuckle of lamb, small pieces of chicken in rather unimpressive sauces, and so on. This may have been authentic, but not at these prices!
There are so many better Indian restaurants in London that no-one need go to the trouble of losing in excess of one hundred quid a head for appalling food ever again... (and PS, I've been to Nobu, paid a hell of a lot more and loved every minute of it; the difference was clear - the quality of the food).

I don't know what has happened to this place but the food has definitely gone down hill. Every dish of every course with every diner in our party had a problem (undercooked asparagus and risotto, overcooked beef wellington, quite frankly awful desserts). The atmosphere remains good but they really need to sort the food out.
