Richard Ward Hair & Metrospa (Hair Salon / Salon)
21 May 2007
Attractive salon in a great location. I thought my stylist seemed in a slight hurry, but I was really pleased with the results and will probably return.
L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon (Restaurant)
21 May 2007
I loved it! Food was just as good as I remember it in the Paris Robuchon and sitting at the bar having a few small dishes makes it practical and (almost) affordable for a quick lunch.
Maze (Restaurant)

Fabulous food, great wines, super-efficient staff. I'm fortunate to eat at Maze quite often as it's a great place to take business clients and I've yet to tire of it. You can order several small dishes which is perfect if you don't have a huge appetite and they're all clever, delicious and beautifully presented. Our French bosses compare it with Atelier de Joel Robuchon in Paris, which offers a similar "tapas" menu concept, and is opening a branch soon in London, so if you like Maze you'll probably love L'Atelier too.
You can smoke in the bar area, so ask not to be seated near there if that bothers you. Other than that, it's perfect.
Borough Market (Food Market)
17 August 2006
I still love Borough Market and shop there when I can. Most of the complaints below seem to focus on price and there are certainly cheaper places to shop for food. But the quality is superb and it's an enjoyable shopping experience in itself as the traders really know their stuff and care about food. Try to get there before 10.30am on Saturdays as it gets very busy around midday.
Yauatcha (Restaurant / Restaurant)
17 August 2006
I've been going to Yauatcha regularly since it opened and I still love it. It suffered some criticism at first due to the 90 minute allocation per booking, but they've never asked us to give the table up when I've been there and the food has been consistently delicious.
I recommend it to friends visiting from abroad for lunch as it's a beautiful restaurant in the heart of Soho and as long as you ignore their advice and don't over-order, it's great for a light lunch before exploring the local shops.
BirdCage (Boutique)

Lots of interesting, beautiful clothes and jewellery here and it's a wonderful place to buy gifts for friends who like pretty things. Worth checking out if you're in the area.
Unruly Studio (Hair Salon / Salon)
17 August 2006
I tried this salon when my usual stylist was away and my summer holidays were rapidly approaching. Good looking salon, happy people and great music, but I wasn't entirely happy with the results and would have liked a bit more dialog (and time) to correct things. I'm perhaps a bit spoiled having used the same salon and stylist for 4 years, so she knows my hair well, but overall I felt a bit rushed and disappointed that although my hair looked good, it wasn't quite what I had in mind.
Fakhreldine (Restaurant)
17 August 2006
An attractive restaurant and bar with lovely views over the park and if I were a tourist staying over the road at The Ritz and chanced upon Fakhreldine I'd be very happy. The dishes are generally good, though some of the "modern interpretations" work better than others and on my last visit they got our order wrong on two counts. However, I hope this was just a glitch and I'll be going back soon to find out.
