Never having eaten there before, we chose this place on the basis of a good few nights in the bar. Although the food is very good and the menu well balanced and quite extensive (though actually not that exciting), I was slightly staggered by the price, considering the setting is less than comfortable and the service was only adequate. There are considerably better restaurants where the food is more exciting and the setting more in line with the the cost, thus offering better value for money.

I was sceptical about this place. I'm not into the uber-trendy scene, particularly when it comes with a big dose of East London chic. However, I would thoroughly recommend this place if you fancy a bit of decadence and glam.

It is on the pretentious side, but it doesn't pretend not to be. It was nice just for once to avoid the crush at the bar, and I must admit the cocktails were pretty exceptional.

Great for a birthday gathering, although it is expensive (cocktails, once you factor in the service charge, weighing in at £10 minimum) and you do need to reserve areas (despite the fact that it never felt overcrowded).

Someone reviewed this restaurant and said they would rather eat their own slippers than eat there again. Well I can honestly say that I would rather eat their slippers too!

The service is appalling (rushed and void of humanity, with little coordination between the staff), the dim sum is very average, and although the setting is quite funky and urban you only get the benefit of this if you're in the basement restaurant. The tea is nice, as are the cocktails, but on the whole it's horrendously hyped and overpriced and frankly undeserving of its reputation.
