Like others on here I did a lot of looking around hair salons to find the right one and I came upon Unruly Studio. It caught my eye because I live 5 mins away and because it looked like they had a lot of satisfied customers.

The lady on the phone was very efficient in booking an appointment for me on Valentine's Day morning, even though other salons were booked up on that day. When I got there I was offered drinks and I was swiftly put in the hands of Pawel. The shampooing was fab, the shiatsu chairs nearly made me fall asleep!

The cut was exactly what I wanted - not too much off the ends, just enough to take off the mass of split ends and to sharpen up my layers. The blowdry was nothing that I've seen before, he made it lovely and wavy which is a change from the blow dry straight that I usually get. All in all, I felt relaxed and could enjoy the experience that I usually dread!

The only bad thing is that it is slightly difficult to find the salon as it is part of Westbourne Studios which is a complex of businesses and media facilities, so make sure you can get there 10 mins early to find your way around.

The staff there are the most knowledgeable about film and friendly too! I used to go to secondary school down the road and I have found their advice and recommendations invaluable for projects/research.

Went in for a French manicure and came out with something that my 7-year-old sister could have done with a Tippex pen. Not worth it.

I used to work here when I was 15 as a hair washer on Saturdays. Needed a haircut so I thought why not pop in for one! Needless to say that the cut was fantastic and all the staff were incredible. I remember the cuts and colour being amazing when I worked there and often marvelled at their talent whilst I was sweeping up. Nothing has changed since 5 years ago. 5 stars.

Absolutely massive! Great sound system, OK door staff, big name performers and just a great night out overall. D'n'B room is hilarious! One bad thing is that you have to queue for ages to get in on a big night and sometimes you can't get in before door closing time, so make sure you get there at around 8:30pm-9:00pm when there is a big night on. It's worth it.
