Yauatcha (Restaurant / Restaurant)

If you're out to impress then a downstairs table here will get you top marks. A very cool atmosphere, the food is absolutely fantastic. If you're stuck for what to choose, simply ask the staff who always seem to have great recommendations.
On the negative side, the food can sometimes be frustratingly slow in getting to the table (if speed is of the essence go to Ping Pong), but make the most of this by sampling some of their gorgeous cocktails. Not the cheapest place in town (though not unreasonable for what you get), this is a place best enjoyed on expenses!
Faulkner's (Fish and Chips Shop)

Simply the best chippie in East London. For a great value take-home supper try the homemade fish cakes and chips (though the cod and haddock is also very good!).
LMNT (Gastro Pub)

Fairly limited menu, but what they do, they do well. Friendly service and definitely an interior with a difference!

This place is just brilliant - it has completely rejuvenated the area and highlights what a cool place Hackney is to live. Just a damn shame we now live in Brixton!
Eco Pizza (Pizza Restaurant)

Excellent food, but service is quite often poor. Love the open pizza bar but the rest of the decor is in desperate need of a refit (or even a fresh lick of paint), looks like it hasn't been decorated for 10 years.
