St John Bread and Wine (Restaurant / Baker)

This is, simply, the best restaurant in London. The staff are friendly, without being obsequious, the surroundings are simple and happy, the food is just well sourced, unusually combined and perfectly prepared. If you eat nowhere else in London, try this one (and no, I don't have shares!).

Great restaurant and agree with the other reviews - but do try the bar menu, it's got to be the best in London!

Been there twice now. Service couldn't have been better. Food was great - the comment below regarding the limited choice is fair, but it does change. Price better than I expected for Central London, and you are renting a great view.
Wapping Food at The Wapping Project (Restaurant)

The gruff woman referred to in the previous posting is certainly Jules - she runs the place and doesn't suffer fools gladly (and her definition of fools can be pretty broad on a bad day!). I'd forget it and go again as it's still a spectacular place to eat. Don't be put off by this, Wapping Food is a one off and there are few of those left in London.
