Met Bar (Bar)
06 October 2007
Desperate to impress and be exclusive, even when empty. After blagging our way in by making up a name and room number and pretending to be staying at the hotel, found it boring and a great disappointment.
Purple Bar (Bar)
06 October 2007
Excellent decor and very pretty but very funny about actually letting people in, which seems rather a pity.
Mandarin (Bar)

Classy, sexy and beautiful. Mind out for the hookers making a beeline for anyone with a yacht or an oil well though...
Long Bar at Sanderson (Bar)
06 October 2007
Once you get past the trash and fake people standing around the bar trying to death-stare you, it is a beautiful bar (with not so beautiful but very surgically enhanced people!) The outside is nice too, if you ignore everyone round you and pretend they are not there. A great place... would be ideal if it was empty.
Light Bar (Bar)

Nice ambiance and decor but pretentious and desperate to seem exclusive. Asked us if we had a reservation and told us we might be able to come in after dining at Asia de Cuba. Drinks very expensive and staff cocky.
Artesian Bar (Bar)

Beautiful, classy and relaxed surroundings - a lovely place to sit. However, £5 for a small diet coke is extortionate. Cocktails very powerful.
L'Étranger (Restaurant)

Excellent value set lunch menu, delicious and tasty food with novel and mouthwatering flavours. Portions a little small but very very good food and good service too.
Eight over Eight (Restaurant / Restaurant)

Excellent, delicious food, very tasty and nice flavours. Good puddings, service good, but bar gets a bit crowded. Ten out of ten overall.
Arbutus (Restaurant)
06 October 2007
Thoroughly average, like many other restaurants - it completely blurs in with them. Food was boring and not particularly tasty.
Nobu Berkeley (Restaurant)
06 October 2007
Nice decor and bar but a disappointment compared to Nobu Park Lane. I would give this one 7/10 and Nobu PL 10/10.
Nobu (Restaurant / Restaurant)

Excellent service, impeccable food, delicious and mouthwatering. Even managed to fit us in at an hour's notice. Not too expensive if you don't have wine. Cocktails are divine however.
Tom's Kitchen (Restaurant)
06 October 2007
Average, noisy, too many kids, not an exciting menu, not bad value for money.
The Ivy (Restaurant)
06 October 2007
Very tasty food and good service - they squeezed us in at the last minute. The vegetables etc. come separate, which is how it gets expensive. Everything is cooked to perfection, though the portions are possibly not big enough. The atmosphere is nice but people look each other up and down too much to see who is 'somebody'.
Asia de Cuba (Restaurant / Restaurant)

Food is very high standard - anyone who says it is tasteless must have no tastebuds or have been on a day when the chef was off sick. However, it takes forever (and I mean a LONG time) for the waiters to come and take an order and clear plates away... and then they ask about a hundred times if you want a coffee afterwards.
The main courses are not huge - three between two with no starter, or a starter and a main if you are not terribly hungry, is ideal. I think it is overpriced compared to other places of a similar standard, and a little noisy. However, the decor is interesting and it is an enjoyable experience. I would give it 8 out of 10.
Miu Miu (Designer Shop / Handbag Shop)
06 October 2007
Excellent clothes and good service. Staff are actually polite, which is a rarity. A bit overcrowded at weekends.
Gucci (Designer Shop / Menswear Shop)
06 October 2007
Excellent bags, of fairly high quality, but staff look customers up and down. They are fake and friendly if you spend over £1000 but rude if you don't want to buy that day, even if they recognise you.
Fendi (Designer Shop / Handbag Shop)
06 October 2007
Staff do not bother you but do not really help either. Bags OK but clothes not particularly wearable.
Christian Dior (Designer Shop)
06 October 2007
WAG orientated and tacky. Doormen look at you like you are a criminal and staff are very rude if you do not buy anything and act like it is nothing to spend a lot of money there, which they certainly couldn't afford to.
Burberry (Designer Shop / Children's Clothing Shop / Handbag Shop / Menswear Shop)

Excellent quality and classy. You don't have to buy a cap if you don't want to, so stop complaining about it being for chavs - they can't afford to shop there, they shop at the market!
Hermès (Designer Shop / Handbag Shop / Leather Goods Shop)
06 October 2007
The worst and rudest service I have ever experienced in this type of shop. The staff treat customers like dirt, when they are spending thousands of pounds! It is highly pretentious and an affectation as a brand.
