Hyde Park (Park)
20 August 2007
I don't remember it being crowded often so don't let that frighten you away. It is a beautiful park and well worth visiting - the large parks in London are something I miss and would love to stroll through again.

Enjoyed our dinner here - I didn't think the food was fantastic but it was capable and the service was attentive. Best thing was, I had a good laugh with friends and the atmosphere was great.
Liberty (Department Store / Lingerie Shop)

Personally I don't fancy a lot of the Liberty designs but it's certainly worth a visit for tourists - there's a historic feel to the store that's been lost from many of the other department stores nearby.
Selfridges (Department Store / Lingerie Shop / General Sports Shop / Food Hall)

Really like the refurb given to the store a couple of years back. It updated a wonderful department store that, along with Harrods, is one of the best known shopping icons in London.
Harvey Nichols (Department Store)

One of the best places to visit in London for great clothes at unfortunately high prices. It can get a little claustrophobic in some sections and there's often too many people but the range of fashion makes up for it.
Fortnum and Mason (Department Store / Food Hall)

Fantastic selection of gourmet food, some of which also make good gifts for visitors. I haven't the disposable income to shop here regularly but certainly would do if my boss gave me a raise!
La Maison du Chocolat (Chocolate Shop)

Very friendly and helpful staff here. I was unsure what to buy as a small present for a chocoholic friend and they had me trying 3 different small chocolates as I tried to make a decision. I ended up buying much more than I planned to out of sheer gratitude as they'd been so nice.
Not cheap, but excellent quality chocs. I will be back at Easter to purchase small but perfectly formed Maison du Chocolat bunnies for all the adults in my family (and a few of the kids with good taste...)
The Gaucho Grill (South American Restaurant / Restaurant)

Steaks are pretty good here and service is friendly and capable. The interior has a cosy feel to it - grab a window seat to get views of the Thames.

Lovely park - perfect for a summer's day.
