Ritz (Hotel)
10 July 2007
A little shabby in places, but this is more a place for tourists anyway.
Saatchi Gallery (Private Art Gallery / Tourist Attraction)
10 July 2007
Overrated - just as expected from an advertising man.
British Museum (Museum / Tourist Attraction)
10 July 2007
Great place to spend an hour wandering, and peaceful if you avoid the mummies.
Daunt Books (Bookshop)
10 July 2007
The Best - simple as that!
Myla (Adult Shop / Gift Shop / Lingerie Shop)
10 July 2007
Best naughty gift store this side of Montparnasse.
Miller Harris (Perfume Shop)
10 July 2007
Haven't had a chance to sample most fragrances, but a bottle of L'Air de Rien (created for Jane Birkin) always makes for a well received gift.
Connolly (Leather Goods Shop)
07 July 2007
Rarely go into the place since they stopped carrying a large range of Valextra. Also, they no longer have the heavily reduced sales (sigh).
Poste (Men's Shoe Shop)
22 January 2007
Great little selection, even though everything seems to be priced slightly higher than it should.
Cartier (Jewellers)
16 January 2007
Dangerous place for credit cards. Service always good but the range can feel a little staid.
Mappin & Webb (Jewellers)
16 January 2007
Limited stock but good service. Not as flashy as watches of Switzerland (a good thing?). Good place to get advice on watches.
Bulgari (Jewellers)
16 January 2007
Service in jewellery stores can be hit and miss, but I had an excellent experience pre-Christmas from the staff at the Sloane Street branch. (Shame the same can't be said about the Bulgari counter in Selfridges... )
Les Senteurs (Perfume Shop)
01 January 2007
Firstly, I recently learned that this is not a family-run place but owned by a large perfume distributor - so that's one illusion shattered. Also, staff fairly indifferent. I'm not sure why the place is so highly regarded. Give me Bond no. 9 in New York any day!
Liberty (Department Store / Lingerie Shop)
19 September 2006
Menswear selection excellent but the service poor (all fashion students that do their best to ignore you) - such a shame, since it has the best selection of Ann Dem and Dries in London.
