Had a great night here. No trouble getting in as a friend had booked to eat. Good food, friendly crowd and the music was ok. There's plenty of space to sit and chat if that's your thing, or to party. Felt just right for a midweek night out, though I'm not sure I'd enjoy a Friday or Saturday, when it's probably a lot busier.

I was very impressed. Superbly inventive food and a very attractive dining room. Alex S (see review below) may have missed the point in that you order 5 or 6 tapas-size dishes which are around £6 each and enjoy a wide range of flavours and textures during the meal. If each of these dishes were the size of a main course you'd be full after 2 and the concept wouldn't work particularly well, would it?
All but one of the dishes I ordered were amazing and a £35 food bill for cooking at this level is very reasonable.
Highly recommended.

Certainly not cheap but they stock everything you need for a perfect beach holiday. The quality is excellent and the service friendly. Definitely worth a visit!

Interesting cakes upstairs - they look delicious and sweet and some of them are, but others have rather unusual ingredients such as tea, ginger and lychee which are a talking point, but not (to my simple palate) as tasty as similar looking cakes from the cafe at Sketch, or other nearby lovely cake emporiums.
The dim sum was excellent and the design will certainly win Yau and Christian Liaigre a few more awards. Unlike the reviewer below, we were warned that we had to relinquish the table within 1.5 hours. I felt this was a bit restrictive, but at least we were warned.
Overall I'd certainly recommend Yauatcha but I'm not sure that I'll grow to love it as much as Hakassan.
