JLT (Hair Salon)
09 July 2008
I've just returned from JLT, having visited the salon for the second time. My first experience was good - the staff were friendly, the cut was great, and the salon was in tip-top condition. My only quibble was that they served wine from plastic picnic cups, but that is neither here nor there.
My second venture, from which I have just returned, was less than good. The receptionist was extremely rude, and checked my appointment while nosing through her chavy friend's Primark bag. I was not impressed. The hairdresser himself was vile, reprimanding the hair-washing girl and strutting around being bitchy to staff and customer alike. If I dared make any suggestion about my hair, I would receive a blank look with a high pitched "Errrrrrr... I dont think so".
This place, despite being in central London, reeks of the provinces. It is the sort of place people would go to because there was nowhere else. My hair is fine - a little short, but I'll live. However, I can't get rid of the negative impressions fom meeting such a horrid person.

I went to their smaller salon just off Brick Lane, and was really disappointed. The salon was really tatty and cramped, like being in box. The hairdresser was friendly enough to start off with, but that all changed when I left the salon - more of that later...
The cut was not good. It looked like a short version of my 'going-to-the-supermarket' hair. Really unimpressed.
Now for the worst bit. I left the salon and turned the wrong way; realising my mistake, I turned back, so had to walk back past the salon. The door of the salon was open, and inside I could hear, and see, my hairdresser doing really nasty impressions of me, and all the other stylists laughing. I felt really bad about myself... and to top it off I had a bad hair do!
Don't go there. REALLY, DON'T.
