Hakkasan (Restaurant / Restaurant)
21 August 2005
Too busy, expensive and difficult to book, but I love it and when friends are visiting London for 1 night and ask where they should eat, I still recommend Hakkasan.
The food is consistently good, cocktails are fantastic and the interior design is stunning.
I've always found the service to be very good, and when it has slipped they've made up for it - on a recent visit they messed up adding our pre-dinner cocktails to our food bill and rather than present us with a 2nd bill they just gave us our drinks for free.
Andreas (see review below) will be disappointed to hear that The Oriental at The Dorchester closed some time ago, and Hakkasan is better, hipper and less stuffy anyway.
Great restaurant.
Les Trois Garcons (Restaurant)
21 August 2005
The decor is certainly outstanding - I've never dined any where like it in my life. However, the food was somewhat hit and miss when we visited - some dishes perfectly ok, others very average.
I'd certainly recommend visiting Les Trois Garcons but you can get much better food for the same (relatively high) price elsewhere in London.
Sagar (Restaurant / Restaurant)

I ate here with some vegetarian friends recently and was pleasantly surprised - delicious Indian food and excellent value for money. Service was efficient and very friendly.
Look forward to visiting for a 2nd time and I shall remember not to turn my nose up when invited to vegetarian restaurants in future.
Hampstead Heath (Park)

My favourite outdoor space in North London - a huge expanse with lots of great features - ponds, hills, woodland and plenty of spots for picnics. Kenwood House is great too and has outdoor concerts in the summer.
Meson don Felipe (Spanish Restaurant)

I've eaten at Meson don Felipe a few times and it has a great atmosphere. Gets really busy so it's worth booking and you don't get much space per table so be prepared to squeeze in and eat compactly.
Great tapas though and really handy for the Vic theatres.
