Alice Temperley (Designer Shop)

Lovely showroom with some of the most stunningly beautifully clothes I've ever seen. Amazing quality fabrics and attention to detail.
Kingly Club (Members' Club)

Impressive design, near perfect cocktails and very attentive service, but it's a rather small bar so not ideal for large groups. I'm not a member, but got in by calling in advance. I expect the members-only rule will take effect when enough people have joined, which is a shame as I'd certainly return as a non-member.
Electric Cinema (Cinema)

This is as far removed from your local Odeon as possible. Huge leather armchairs, wine coolers by each chair and fabulous decor. I'm fairly tall and used to feeling uncomfortable in cinemas, but I could barely touch the seat in front even when slumped in the chair with my legs fully stretched.
At the back of the cinema is a bar serving tasty snacks (no dodgy hotdogs) and drinks, and there are also a few sofas which you can book (if you book early).
If only all cinemas were like this...
Today is Boring (Video / DVD Rental Shop)

Such a great idea. I just hope they make enough money to expand, as I can't cross London every time I want to hire a decent film. You have to pay £10 to join, and then about £3 per dvd (i think), but it's worth it just to escape the endless rows of hollywood movies offered by the larger chains.
I spent 20 minutes flicking through the catalogues making mental notes of all the films I need to hire as there's just so much good stuff here - you can tell they care about film. They also organise nights in local bars such as the recent Twin Peaks nights where they showed the whole series.
Fino (Spanish Restaurant)
08 March 2004
Definitely the best tapas in London, although the other restaurants listed here are pretty good too. The restaurant critics are increasingly asking whether Spanish cuisine is overtaking French in terms of innovation and leadership, but Fino isn't quite on the cutting edge. It is, however a great tapas restaurant with simple, delicious Spanish dishes served with a good range of appropriate sherries.
There's also a small and well-tended cocktail bar overlooking the dining area. Fino is entirely underground and the design suffers slightly from an overdose of blonde wood. But having lived in Barcelona for 3 years, I can honestly say that it's as good as tapas gets in London, albeit somewhat more expensive than it would be in Spain.
