I've tried many salons in London, including John Frieda in Mayfair and Vidal Sassoon, and nothing gets close to the experience at Stuart Phillips. Having read reviews on this site, I chose to book Stuart himself, and did not regret it. I spent 2 hours being pampered and the haircut was great. Stuart takes time for a first consultation to talk about your hair, then an hour and a half for the shampoo, cut and blow dry. His attention to detail is good. I missed out on the Shiatsu head massage, as being 8 months pregnant it could have induced my labour earlier than planned; but even without it, it was well worth it. Everything was done to accommodate me - I felt like a princess! Would recommend it to all my friends.

My expectations were too high probably when I walked into this salon. The atmosphere was OK, and the haircut too (quite classic, not very creative). But this is the problem: it's just average. Why pay a premium for average service and an average haircut? Would not recommend.

Good haircut, with a real sense of style - even my husband noticed the difference! Very expensive though: £120 for a shampoo, cut and blow dry. Was the cut worth the money? Not sure...
