Yauatcha (Restaurant / Restaurant)
10 January 2006
Good food, awful layout, uneven service (you don't serve wine in tumblers... not when the people at the next table have wine glasses). And if you're going to have a draconian policy on guests arriving and leaving at set times, you should have a seating area. Not leave 4 or 5 tables' worth of people standing around by the door. You can get better dim sum in more pleasant surroundings in less trendy locations.
Richard Corrigan at Lindsay House (Restaurant)

Superb restaurant, Richard Corrigan is a great cook who respects his ingredients. Fabulous service too and I suspect our table was quite trying for them.
Tom Aikens (Restaurant)

He's obviously a talented cook, but really needs to calm down a bit. Each plate had about five different things on it and by the time they got to telling you about the last one you couldn't remember what everything else was! The milk bottle thing is just odd. He should also change his bizarre anti-British cheese policy.
Club Gascon (Restaurant)

The food was fine, but I endured some of the most appalling service I have ever experienced.
La Trompette (Restaurant)

Speaking as a lowly West Londoner I couldn't be more thrilled that La Trompette is out here. You're not exactly short of good restaurants in Central London - it seems only fair that we should have the best!
I first visited the week it opened and have been back probably on average once a month since. It has rarely disappointed.
