Nice food and excellent Bloody Mary's although a bit chilly in winter upstairs.

Fantastic - I eat out a lot, but this is in my top 5 of all time. Beautiful venue too without pretension.

I was truly and utterly shocked at the standard of treatment. I arrived for my senior stylist appointment (with designer bag and city work suit) only to be asked by reception if I was there for the junior model night (i.e. freebie haircut by trainee hairdresser with no experience- very insulting).
Having had to find my own way to waiting room with no help, the barman talked loudly in Spanish to his friend. Meanwhile I was offered no refreshments. Finally having my appointment, who boasted of his Z list celebrities (yawn), I explained I did not want any length taken off my cut, and wanted the length to be kept in my layers and not cut short-my hair was 4 inches past my shoulders. He cut half an inch off and we agreed that was fine.
However, somehow, he took way above that off (4 -5 inches) without consultation. I emerged with what I can only describe as a bowl cut at the top of my head with a bobbed mullet underneath, completely devastated that he did not once listen to me and cut a style without telling me, which was way shorter than agreed. Definitely not the Liz Hurley style I had asked for.
It was completely unprofessional and upsetting being treated as a 'nobody' although with this ridiculous haircut, I now stand a chance of joining the Z list as an extra in the kiddies program Rainbow. The place screamed pretension, which is odd given that the staff really aren't in the Ferrari league. I have experience of other top hair dressers which clearly shows why you really are paying for 'day time tv hairdressing' and very little else.
